It ranks as a very large university, with more than 63,000 graduate and postgraduate students in the 22 faculties, 3 arts academies and one university college. Over one half of the study programmes in the 2007/2008 year are offered in accordance with the Bologna Declaration. Based on its own research projects as well as advances in research at home and abroad, ULJ provides learning and training by prominent scientists and experts. ULJ has well equipped laboratories and strong collaboration with industry on fundamental and applied research. As Slovenia is situated at the borderline of the WBC region, ULJ will have important role during realization of the project, regarding to its successful model of transition, straightening of capacity and transforms via requests of Bologna and Lisbon strategies. There are many examples of the best practice in cooperation with national and enterprises from EU.

univerzitet-padovaUP UNIVERSITY OF PADOVA (UPD), Italy, www.unipd.it . The University of Padova, was founded in 1222, enrolls 50,000 students. In a recent survey, UP is ranked as the number one university in Italy. 13 Faculties and 64 Departments have reformulated their teaching strategies according to the requirements set out in the new reform. Department of Innovation and Management (Head Prof. Paolo F. Bariani) is active in research and education on manufacturing processes - physical testing and virtual modelling, management and automation. DIMEG has excellent collaboration with other institutions at national (16 contracts with industry, 9 with Ministry) and international level (14) in realization of numerous projects. DIMEG will help in strengthening of educational, research and innovative capacities of PC universities. Remarkable cooperation of DIMEG with Italian companies and SMEs will be example of good practice for development of the regional model of cooperation.

ipuIPUINSTITUTE FOR PRODUCTION ENGINEERING (IPU), Denmark, www.ipu.dk . IPU was established at the Technical University of Denmark in 1956 as a financially and administratively independent spin-off organization. IPU offers the public and private companies highly qualified process and product development, consultancy assistance, and collaboration with experts in the fields of engineering and ICT technologies. IPU transforms recent know-how and 50 years of experience in collaborating with the research and Danish business communities into consulting services and products by creating innovative and forward-looking solutions. The primary task for IPU is to quickly pick up and translate research into commercial and useable realities. The vision of IPU is to be able to predict the needs of the business community and the society in the fields of engineering. The key role of IPU during the realization of the project will be retraining of CTC staff and service providers, as well as active participation in development of TSNA and the new regional model.

In the first decade, its activities were focused mainly on advanced numerical analyses of material forming technologies. However, systematic long-term development put the company into a favourable position to extend business to biomechanics, geomechanics, pharmaceutics, food industry and space. During the years C3M has generated a lot of knowledge and experience in cooperation with industry, thus C3M sees a great opportunity to disseminate this know-how within the proposed project.
