Brokerage event in Banja Luka - Promoting research and innovation for competitiveness

The Brokerage event on the subject "Research and innovation promotion in the function of competitiveness" was held on 19th June 2012 at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Banja Luka. The event was organized of the team of Collaborative training centre Banja Luka.

That was one-day event, with more than 40 participants from academic and business sectors.

The event participated by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology and representatives of Chamber of Commerce Republic of Srpska, coordinator of WBC-VMNet project Prof. Dr Vesna Mandic and representatives of the University of Banja Luka.

Presentations at this event were given by representatives of partner institutions, as well as eminent domestic experts from the areas of research, innovations and business.

Participants of this meeting emphasized the significance of promotion and mobilization of research resources in the region with the aim of initiating innovations in domestic enterprises and their greater involvement in the international projects.

Model of the university-enterprise cooperation and regional achievements in these areas were presented, as well as the examples of best practices of the local companies, the available sources of financing, and the applied models of technology transfer here and abroad.

In the afternoon part, individual meetings were organized and various initiatives were launched related to the cooperation of scientific - research institutions and industries through the joint work in the area of innovation and development.
